Some stories don't start with a plan. They start with pain.
When I lost my spouse, I lost more than a person — I lost the version of myself I thought I knew. The life I had mapped out. The future I had imagined. What I had left were my faith, my pen, and a decision that I was not going to let grief have the last word.
I started writing. Not because I had answers, but because I needed somewhere to put everything I was feeling. That writing became a YouTube channel called Written Through It — a space where I processed out loud, showed up in my mess, and discovered that my story was far from over. It was just beginning a new chapter.
That channel became a community. That community became a calling. And that calling became Penned in Color.
What We Believe
We believe every woman has a story worth telling — especially the hard ones. We believe that faith can carry you through seasons you never asked for. And we believe that somewhere on the other side of loss, of reinvention, of starting over at 40 and beyond, there is a woman who is more vivid, more purposeful, and more powerful than she has ever been.
That woman is who we design for.
